We provide the following outpatient services to the community:
Arterial Blood Gas: Is a lab test in which a respiratory therapist will collect the blood sample to measure the acidity, or pH, and the levels of oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from an artery. The test is used to check the function of the patient's lungs and how well they are able to move oxygen into the blood and remove carbon dioxide.
Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT): Is a test to see how well your lungs are functioning in every way that they function. We collect data by having the patient breath through a set of exercises on our body plethysmography. Your physician can order all the tests or just few depending upon your symptoms.
FVC-Forced vital Capacity - With or without bronchodilator response
SVC-Slow vital capacity
Lung volumes
Diffusion
Maximum voluntary ventilation
Maximum inspiratory pressure
Maximum expiratory pressure
Rest & Exercise Oximetry
Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG): records the electrical signal from your heart to check for different heart conditions. The testing takes about 15 minutes to complete but does require a respiratory therapist to place leads on your chest around your heart, shoulders, and legs.
Holter Monitor: is a small, battery-powered medical device that measures your heart's activity, such as rate and rhythm. These can be worn for 3 to 14 days. To learn more about the iRhythm Zio XT Click Here.
Treadmill Stress Testing: is a test that helps a doctor find out how well your heart handles work. You will be monitored by EKG leads during the testing along with a respiratory therapist and physician.
Electroencephalogram (EEG): is a test used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain. The testing takes approx. 60 minutes with electrode placement. It is important to arrive to this appointment with clean, dry hair.
