Diamonds & Denim Gala Raises More Than $61,000 to Support Local Patient Care and Capital Improvements
Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the success of the 2025 Diamonds & Denim Gala, held on September 19. This year’s event was a complete sellout and raised a net profit of more than $61,000 to support vital patient care services and capital improvement initiatives that strengthen healthcare for families across Grays Harbor.
The gala brought together community members, partners and supporters for an evening dedicated to enhancing high quality, compassionate care close to home. The Foundation extends sincere appreciation to all who contributed their time, energy and generosity to make the event memorable and impactful.
Board Commissioner and Foundation Member Lynn Csernotta shared her appreciation for the community’s support. “The Diamonds & Denim Gala was a complete sellout, raising an impressive $61,256 to support patient care and capital improvement initiatives. A special thank-you goes to Paula Lorenz and Karen Shafer for their vision and leadership in bringing this year’s event to life. What an incredible night. The HRH Diamonds & Denim Gala was a wonderful success, and it would not have been possible without our volunteers. Your time, energy, creativity and teamwork truly made the evening shine, from setup to final cleanup. Every detail reflected your dedication and heart.”
As the Foundation enters the Season of Giving Thanks, it offers heartfelt appreciation to the many volunteers, partners and supporters who continue to invest in healthcare excellence. Their commitment ensures that patients throughout Grays Harbor receive the care they need and deserve.

A major contribution to the $3.5M MRI project, bringing a state-of-the-art Canon Fortain MRI to Community Hospital.
Scholarships for Grays Harbor College students, continuing a 12-year partnership that has provided $52,000 in grants to support 32 students entering the healthcare field.
New hospital beds to improve patient care and comfort.
A new surgical table for the OR, enhancing capabilities for essential procedures.
A Novii+ fetal monitoring system for the Family Birth Center, supporting safer recoveries for mothers and babies.
Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital Foundation is grateful for the tremendous support we receive from our community.
76% of patients at our hospital are insured through Medicare or Medicaid whose payments for services do not fully cover the cost of care. 2% of patients have no insurance at all. In total, the Hospital collects only about 26% of the amounts billed. Tax proceeds from Public Hospital District #2 provide some support, but the shortfall is significant and our Hospital needs your support.

Assisted with the construction of a new 15,000-square-foot emergency department.
Assisted with the purchase of a new state-of-the-art MRI machine.
Provided bed replacement in the critical care unit.
Assisted in purchasing new patient-room TVs.
Provided funds to update the original 1959 kitchen for increased efficiency with patient meals and Three Rivers Café.
Purchased new patient/customer furniture for the updated lobby waiting areas.
Assisted in the purchase of a patient hoverjack transporter.
