DETOXIFICATION AND STABILIZATION PROGRAM

When a patient arrives at HarborCrest, they are greeted by our registered nurses who specialize in Substance Use Disorder treatment. The admission process includes a full evaluation and is conducted to determine the level of medical care that is needed.

Our goal is to keep every patient comfortable and safe during their stay in medical detox (Withdrawal Management). During the detox phase, they are monitored closely; alarms and fall-prevention beds are used when necessary. Once a patient is medically cleared by our physicians, the stabilization phase begins. The length of treatment is determined by medical necessity.

During the stabilization phase, patients participate in the intensive treatment program, which serves to raise awareness and engage them in their own recovery process. Through group therapy and evidence-based approaches including 12-step approaches, patients can begin to gain a sense of the ongoing work needed in order to continue in their recovery process. Your stay is based on medical necessity, which is evaluated daily to assess your individual needs.

We use evidence-based approaches covering a variety of relevant  relapse prevention topics. The program includes lectures and presentations by experts in specialized subject areas, as well as guest speakers from alumni of our program.

HCBH utilizes Suboxone® and Subutex® as a detox protocol and an ongoing Medication Assisted Treatment modality known for its long-term efficacy. These types of pharmacological interventions and treatment can mean hope and freedom for patients suffering from Opioid Use Disorder.

We also use Vivitrol ® as an ongoing MAT modality for Alcohol Use Disorder. Vivitrol® is a monthly injectable medication given by your Primary Care Physician or OTP to reduce alcohol cravings. Vivitrol® is also used as MAT for Opioid Use Disorder.

MAT options will be discussed with you upon your admission to our program.

HCBH is pleased to announce a significant enhancement to our Inpatient Medical Detox/Stabilization program, effective August 5, 2024. We now accept patients who have been inducted on Methadone, are using other substances, and are established with an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).

This expansion enables us to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to a broader range of patients in need of effective opioid addiction treatment. By incorporating Methadone treatment into our program, we are enhancing our ability to support individuals on their journey to recovery.

“With each passing day, I am inspired by the resilience of our patients and the unwavering dedication of our team. Together, we work tirelessly to provide an environment where healing and transformation can take place. As a Clinical Supervisor at HarborCrest, my purpose is clear - to continue making a positive impact, advocating for change, and helping patients with Substance Use Disorder find the strength and courage to embark on their own journey of recovery.”
