GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • Harbor Regional Health does not offer urgent care, however, we do offer two options to more quickly serve our community.

Our Prompt Care clinic provides same or next-day appointments Monday - Friday for patients already established with an HRH Primary Care Provider .

Our Respiratory Clinic, which we created to serve our community during the pandemic, offers care for respiratory illnesses such as cold, flu, or COVID-19. It is open to all adults, whether previously established with HRH or not.

    What is Prompt Care?

Harbor Regional Health (HRH) is here to serve the health needs of established HRH patients for non-respiratory symptoms with same-day or next-day appointments through our Prompt Care Clinic. If you are unable to see your Regular HRH Primary Care Provider and have an acute or prompt medical need we can schedule you an appointment in Prompt Care. Our caring providers are here to help you with splints, sprains, wound infections, minor burns, and more.

Harbor Regional Health Prompt Care is currently open DAYS Monday-Friday, but we are actively recruiting more providers to be able to expand this service to evenings and weekends.

What is the Respiratory Care Clinic?

In order to serve the needs of our community and keep you safe, during the pandemic, we offer afternoon appointments for ANY ADULT suffering from acute respiratory symptoms, like cold, flu, or COVID-19. Our Respiratory Care Clinic is here to serve you with same-day appointments whenever possible, however depending on the volume of patients that day we may have to schedule a next-day appointment. We suggest you call before noon to make a same-day appointment.

This clinic uses a triage protocol to schedule appointments so you receive the most appropriate care. Please call our Appointment Center to make your appointment: 1-866-537-2778

  • Harbor Regional Health is not actively expanding to any new neighborhoods, but we are in discussions with many communities on the Harbor to see if we can expand services, especially primary care in the future.

At this time, the pandemic-induced health care worker shortage is playing a major role in our ability to expand services. We also don’t want to compete with providers in our area like SeaMar in Ocean Shores. As a Public Hospital District, our main goal is to provide hospital services like our Emergency Department, Level 3 Trauma Center, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Family Birth Center.

We know primary care and urgent care are important to the communities we serve, especially our coastal communities. We are looking at the best way to expand services, whether it is to partner with providers already serving the area, or expand our own services. Expanding Primary Care for our communities is a priority of Harbor Regional Health.

  • According to the Association of Washington Public Hospital Districts, Public Hospital Districts are community-created, governmental entities authorized by state law to deliver health services—including but not limited to acute hospital care.

FINANCIAL QUESTIONS

  • Yes. Please visit our Pay Your Bill page for instructions for paying your Community Hospital or HRH Medical Group bill.

  • Our organization, like most other healthcare organizations, received assistance from the United States Department of Health and Human Services throughout the pandemic. This link: https://data.cdc.gov/Administrative/HHS-Provider-Relief-Fund/kh8y-3es6 provides an overview of how the funds were distributed, who received funds, and the amount of allocation. This funding was intended by HHS to support healthcare-related expenses or lost revenue attributable to COVID-19 and ensures uninsured Americans can get treatment for COVID-19.

This funding must be utilized for “allowable expenses”, as identified by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA). Information on allowable expenses can be found at https://www.hrsa.gov/provider-relief/reporting-auditing/allowable-expenses.

  • Harbor Regional Health has employed traditional and innovative recruitment efforts. We continue to work through traditional means such as our website, in-person job boards, and online job boards like Indeed. We are working closely with our partners at Grays Harbor College and local School Districts to identify and recruit potential staff as early as possible. We also offer an RN Residency, NA-C Residency, and Nurse Practioner Fellowship to recruit recent grads from across the US. We have also launched a Medical Assistant Apprenticeship so we can train recruits to become licensed professionals ready to fill our open positions.

We are currently developing a video series in partnership with Grays Harbor College and local School Districts to share the stories of staff who grew up on the Harbor and have chosen to work at HRH. Through the HRH Community Hospital Foundation, we are working on scholarship/loan payback programs to also encourage students to enter the medical field, especially through programs at Grays Harbor College.

We have also taken a more aggressive approach toward using contract staff (travelers); however, even these staff members have been difficult to come by and at a premium cost to the organization. In addition.

The Uniform Emergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act allows individuals with good standing licenses issued in another state, to register in the Washington State Registry of Emergency Volunteers (WAServ) and be approved to practice in Washington State, while the Governor’s emergency proclamation is in effect. This program is only available to professionals with a valid license from another U.S. State or Territory and is only effective for the length of the current declared emergency

  • We are actively recruiting physicians and mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners. We know that primary care is important to the communities that we serve and are working hard to get providers to our community. We are offering more generous incentive packages than ever before.
